Reed Redden Newbourn, age 19, of Xenia, went to be with the Lord, after a long battle with cancer on Saturday, August 5, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 22, 2003, in Xenia, Ohio.
Reed graduated from Ohio Digital Learning in 2022.
He was very passionate about his music and doing his own videos. He loved gaming with his Dad, his big brother and his Cuz, Lil K. He also loved hanging with his cats, Major and Sarge. He was an enthusiastic adventurer who loved trying different things and foods. Reed was a true warrior and fighter until the end of his journey in life.
He was a unique and an amazing individual who inspired and uplifted many people. He will be remembered for his loving, caring and funny spirit. Reed was a loving son, a great brother, special nephew, caring cousin, a sweet grandson and an awesome friend. He will be so sadly missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his pa-paw, Roger Cope;; grandparents, Don and Carol Louderback; aunt, Tina Lewis; and special uncle, Mike Jones.
Reed is survived by his parents, Lonnie and Angie Newbourn; big brother, Reese Newbourn; ma-maw, Evalee Cope; aunts and uncles, Natelee (Anthony) Gray, Roger (Debi) Cope, Gina Jones and Sherry Yankee; cousins, Kaiden Gray, Sean Cope, Kaitlin Cope, Candice (Jason) Gulley, Danielle (Morgan) Garber, Courtney (Jon) Wade, Jennifer Jones, Jordan Jones and Maci Shoffstall; loving family friend, Shelly Schofield; bestest and most loyal friend, Jordan Wilson; and many, many more cousins, loving family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Reed's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105) or Dayton Children's Hospital (Attn: Foundation, One Children's Plaza, Dayton, OH 45404-1815).
Visitation will be held from 12:00pm-1:00pm, on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where a Celebration of his Life will begin at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Xenia, OH.
