HENLEY, Reece G. "Doc," age 83, of Dayton, passed away Tues., Feb. 7, 2006 at Hospice of Dayton. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Emma Mae "Sue" Henley on May 2, 2000. Doc is survived by his 4 sons James, Mark & wife Rose, Dennis & wife Linda and Steven Henley & wife Linda; 5 grandchildren Tammy, Will, Tony, Steven II and Robert; 2 step-grandsons Joe and Josh; long-time family friend Mercy Precht-Matuschek along with numerous other dear friends. He retired from Martin Electric, was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, formerly active with the Eastern Hills Community Council and a veteran of the U.S. Navy with service during W.W.II and the Korean War. Doc served aboard the U.S.S. Bennington CV-20 during W.W.II, receiving American Campaign, American Defense, Asiatic-Pacific, Good Conduct, National Defense and W.W.II Victory Medals. Funeral services 10:30 A.M., Sat., Feb. 11, 2006 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Fr. John Krumm officiating. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 - 10:30 A.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions, if so desired, may be given to Hospice of Dayton in Doc's memory.
