Rebecca Lee O'Neil (Rice), age 59, of Springboro, passed away on July 27, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton from organ failure.
Lee was born on February 16, 1958 on Scott Air Force Base, Illinois to Truman and Kathryn Rice. She attended Xenia High School and graduated in 1976. After graduation she applied her gift of communication to a long career at JC Penney as a life insurance agent. During her career, she earned numerous awards for her achievements, to include fully paid vacations for her and her family. After life as an insurance agent, she relocated her skills to the financial sector where she worked at The Citizens Bank in Ashville, Ohio. Later Lee worked at the family business, Toole Electric. Lee had a strong work ethic, one that she successfully passed on to her children.
Lee was always the brightest light in the room and the life of the party. She was a keeper of stories for her family and friends; she loved to share stories of the past and enjoyed building stories for the future. Lee was known by many for her restoration skills, she had an amazing talent to restore homes, furniture, and even had a bit of a "Green Thumb" to go along with it. She made it look simple long before HGTV came around. She was no stranger to hard work, just as she was no stranger to having a good time. Her childhood as an Air Force "brat" showed her many parts of the U.S., which led to her love of traveling and the outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her parents Truman and Kathryn Rice. She is survived by her husband Jim O'Neil, siblings Candace Reeves, Jeff Rice, Laura Obermeyer, Tom Rice and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Kevin (Ashley) McClanahan, Charlene (Curtis) Ellcessor, Caleb Toole, Kathryn Presler and five grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Hospice of Dayton for the exceptional care and compassion they showed towards Lee, and her family, while she was in their care.
