Reba J. Brown-Spears
Age 85, of Drexel, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2006, at Hospice of Dayton after a lengthy illness. Reba was born June 29, 1921 in Rugby, Tenn to William & Cora Ellen (Meece) Bertram.
Reba was preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years, Luther Brown; her second husband, Earl Spears; and by her grandson, Eugene Fugate.
She is survived by three daughters, Ellen (Albert) Weaver, Dessie Grigsby both of Drexel, Patricia (Charles) Large of Wise, VA; two sons, Chester (Linda) Brown, J. B. Brown both of Drexel; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter with another expected next month; and by several brothers and sisters.
Reba was a member of Victory Hill Pentecostal Church. She retired from General Motors with 28 years of service.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Pastor Stewart Lawson will officiate. Interment will follow at Bearcreek Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
Reba will be greatly missed by her family and all those who knew her.
