Raymond A. Wilson, Jr.

Raymond A. Wilson, Jr., affectionately known as "Daddy, Dad, Jr., Uncle Jr., and Ray", was born on April 25, 1932, in Dayton, Ohio, the oldest of four children, to the late Raymond A. Wilson, Sr. and Addie Mae (Early) Wilson. He peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Kettering Medical Center, Kettering, Ohio.
His Love for his family resulted in him taking a job with a construction company making sure that his mother had her first Television set.

Raymond was educated in the Montgomery County Public School System. He attended Willard and Wogaman Schools and graduated from Dunbar High School where he was a student Coach for the Track and Field Team, and an astonishing member of the Drama, Theater, and Art Societies. He was employed by Television Station Channel 22 where he worked as a camera man during the era of "Dr. Creep." After which he began employment with Kettering Memorial Hospital, where he worked for many years. He worked in a steel mill in Connecticut before returning to Dayton.

Raymond was a faithful member of the Ethan Temple S.D.A. Church where he joined in 1950 and was a Devoted Sabbath School Teacher, and an avid member of the "Colporteur Team". He valued the friendships born out of those relationships.
Many years later, he transferred his membership to the New Life S.D.A. Church where he served as an Elder until 2015. He led a strategic "Bible Study Program" which resulted in many families joining the Church and getting Baptized.
Raymond was a sports enthusiast and obtained his license to become an Official Referee for the City of Dayton Sports. He enjoyed officiating City basketball and baseball games, and also refereed some of the Church League games.

Involved in the rearing of three of his great nephews, Sheldon, Jamil Smith, and Lavanta Fisher, Raymond continues to inspire others.
