Raymond (Smitty) F. Smith died
peacefully on the 16th Day of March
in Dayton, Oh. He leaves his loving wife Mary (Wood),
daughter Kelly and son-in-law Michael Miller, and
daughter Teri Daniels, grandchildren Shawn and
Samantha Miller, Alex and Kayla Daniels and
devoted friend Josh King. He was born to parents
Thomas and Lena Smith on the 20th
Day of December, 1941. Born and raised
in Drexel, Ohio, Smitty's life achievement
was his loving family. A self-made
businessman, Smitty achieved his success
through the laborious trade of Rod-Bustin'.
He was a member of Iron Workers' Local 290,
where he was both beloved and feared.
Smitty is preceded in death by his parents,
his brothers Lou, Tom and Richard, his
sisters Hazel, Glena, Eleanor and Jean,
and his wife's brothers George Clark and Lonnie
Stevens. He is survived by brothers Charles and wife
Marj and Robert and wife Jane, sisters Alice
Kessinger, Thelma Reynolds, Edith Stein, Doris Smart
and husband Jan and wife's siblings Katie and
Jim Dwyer, Billie and John Patten, Juanita Clark, Liz
Stevens and James Wood. Visitation will be held
from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 20th followed
by funeral services at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March
21st, both at Newcomer Farley Funeral Home , 4104
