Raymond Slouffman

SLOUFFMAN, Raymond F., "Ray" age 91 passed away peacefully on June 17, 2011 at The Hospice of Dayton.

He was born in Brookville, OH on October 3, 1919 and was a veteran of WWII from Feb. 5, 1941 to Aug. 30 1945. He was employed by NCR for 24 years, a volunteer firefighter for Spring Valley Township for 28 years, a member of Spring Valley United Methodist Church for 51 years, and a resident of Spring Valley for 60 years.

He is preceded in death by parents, John and Margret (Guess) Slouffman; daughter, Roberta F. Slouffman; two sisters and four brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, LaVeda Slouffman; sons, David (Nancy), Timothy (Connie), Dennis (Barbara), and Theodore (Sue); 7 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; one niece, Cinda Lou (Mike) Krueger; three grand-nieces; and one brother, Walter Slouffman.

A funeral service will be held Monday, June 20, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Spring Valley United Methodist Church, 1 Walnut St., Spring Valley, OH. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 19, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at church. Interment at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ray's name to Hospice of Dayton, Spring Valley United Methodist Church, or to Spring Valley Township Volunteer Fire Department.
