Raymond "Ray Ray" Sumlin

Raymond E. Sumlin “Ray Ray”, age 72 of Dayton, passed away October 1, 2024. He was born October 13, 1951 in Haynesville, LA, son of Otis and Glenna Sumlin. Ray Ray was preceded in death by his father, Otis Sumlin; brothers, Lee Otis Sumlin and James Otis Sumlin.

He is survived by his beloved mother, Glenna Sumlin; children, Raymond Richardson, Tiffany (Derrick) Harris, Donell (Ashley) Hailey and Saloan Taylor; 12 grandchildren, Jhadae’,Inida, Jiya, Jakai Richardson, Kiyoshi Taylor, Dametrice & Damesha Goodall, Andrea Horton, Kierra & Kyair Hailey, Cayden Madlock and Lynix Purifoy; 4 great-children, Graylon Grossley, Robert Russell, Dametria Goodall & Denver McNicholas; brothers, T Sumlin, Jesse (Laura) Sumlin, David (Chris) Sumlin, Lawrence (Samantha) Sumlin and Charlie Sumlin; sisters, Yvonne Sumlin, Mary (Ralph) Jones, Betty Gibson, Cloteal (Michael) Taylor, Oddie Sumlin and Teresa Smith; sister-in-law, Sherri Anderson; special SPECIAL special nephews, Myron Sumlin and Thomas Jones; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends. 

Family will receive guests from 10:00 am - 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd. Kettering, OH 45439) where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the service at Jeffersonview Cemetery, Dayton.
