Raymond Joseph John Rayburg
Age 85, of Dayton, passed away Monday, July 24, 2006, at Hospice of Dayton after a brief illness.
Ray was born January 27, 1921 in Dayton to Charles & Lillian (Wenz) Rayburg. In addition to his parents Ray was preceded in death by one daughter, Vickie Lynn Storey; three brothers, Bill, Tom & Jim; and one sister, Virginia Dafler.
Ray is survived by his wife of the past 57 years, Elsie (Eley) Rayburg; one son, Raymond Lee (& wife, Alice) Rayburg of Arcanum; one daughter, Robin Ann (& husband, Jack) Barnes of Vandalia; six grandsons, Raymond D. (& special friend, Alan Monnin) and Robert (& wife, Rhonda) Rayburg, Jack (& Ellen Radaker), Josh (& wife, Adrienne), Jacob (& wife, Melissa) Barnes and Chip Story; one great grandson, Evan Storey; one great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Rayburg; two step-grandsons, Kevin (& wife, Terre) and Brian (& wife, Jeni) Pohlar; nine step-great grandchildren, Jeff (& wife, Jessie), Kellie, and Justin Keiser, Keegan, Emma, Maddox, Isabel, Cole, and Cecilia Pohlar; one step-great great granddaughter, Lexi Keiser; and by Marian (& husband, Gene) Schaegs who was like a daughter to him.
Ray was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church; and a life-time member of the VFW Post 2800 and American Legion of West Manchester. He retired in 1976 from NCR with 30 years of service.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Interment will follow at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to either Holy Family Church or to Hospice of Dayton.
