Raymond Jewell Hamner born June 26, 1935 in Braxton County, West Virginia, spread his wings and went to Heaven on December 28, 2016.
He knew no stranger and had a great sense of humor! He loved fishing and hunting in the mountains of West Virginia. Raymond retired from ABF Freight, and was a member of Beaver Run Church.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wilda Mae Armstrong; father, Earl; mother, Ermil; step-mother, Gay; brother, Wade; sisters, Bernice McFarland and Althea Cowger; sons, Dennis Earl and Timothy Ray.
He is survived by his sister, Jean Weimer; step-sister, Wanda (Earl) Georgia; 3 daughters, Vickie (Eugene) Crase, Sandy (Stan) Mitchell, and Lesa (Bob) Martindale; 14 grandchildren, Michael, Jason, Jeremy, Joshua, Gene, Jacob, Rebecca, Sarah, Delbert, Jimmy, Raymond, Cristy, Kelli and Jamie; 19 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Boyd (Ana) Armstrong; sister-in-law, Sharon (Berlin) Mosley and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. where a funeral service will begin at 1 PM on Tuesday, January 3rd at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow at Bearcreek Cemetery.
