Raymond C. Dixon, 85, of Riverside, passed away on November 4, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton with his devoted son, Paul, by his side.
He was born in Blairsville, PA on February 8, 1928 to the late Homer and Gertrude (Murray) Dixon.
Raymond was a veteran of the US Navy where he received the WWII Victory Medal for his service.
He is retired from The Chrysler Corporation after 30 years and he continued to meet monthly with his fellow workers for breakfast.
Raymond was a member of the Riverside Senior Club and St. Helen's Leisure Club.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by son, Jeffrey Dixon; wife, Lilly (Miller) Dixon along with 6 of his brothers and sisters.
Survived by his wife of 19 years, Estelle C. (Beato) Dixon; children, Ellen Marie (Denny) Simpson, Clifford Paul (Linda) Dixon, Michael F. Dixon, Robin (Michael) Smith; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Bernice Kibbe; brother, John "J.C." Dixon; and, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Friday, November 8, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am Saturday, November 9, 2013, at St. Helen's Parish, 5100 Burkhardt Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45431, with Father Dave Brinkmoeller, officiating.
Burial in the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Dayton.
