Raymond J. Bent, age 85 of New Carlisle, passed away May 31, 2016. He was born August 29, 1930 in Dayton to the late Julius and Nora Bent. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Bent; son, Michael Bent; grandson, Joshua Adair; and all of his brothers and sisters.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Pam Adair; son, Tim Bent; grandchildren: Angela Estepp, Veronica Bent and Nathan Bent; great-grandchildren: Makenzi, Jaxson, Brantly, Aaron, Ethan and Braylon; several nieces and nephews. Ray is also survived by his faithful companion, Harley.
Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Dayton Power and Light after many years of service. Ray was a member of Sacred Heart Church and American Legion Post in New Carlisle and UWUA Local 175.
At his request, there will be no service. Arrangements by Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road.
