BAIR, Raymond Loftus
age 80 of Oakwood, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at Kettering Memorial Hospital. Ray was born April 22, 1925, the son of Edwin Scott and Inez Janet (nee Loftus) Bair. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Ray graduated in 1950 with a B.A. from Oberlin College. In 1962, Ray received a Fulbright Scholarship at Dartmouth to study in Russia. He received his Master's Degree in Education from Wright State University. Mr. Bair taught for over 30 years at Oakwood High School. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Prudence Jane Bair (nee Harwood); children, Eric Loftus (Summer) Bair of Miamisburg, OH, Edward Wallace (Linda) of Atlanta, GA, Elizabeth Jane (Mark) Cornillie of Grosse Pointe Park, MI, and Richard Curtis (Ann) Bair of Columbus, OH; brothers, Dean Edwin Bair of Alstead, NH and Robert Alan (Martha) Bair of Fresno, CA; 10 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donn Eugene Bair. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2005 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in David's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, 3797 Summit Glen Dr., Suite 100, Dayton, OH 45449.
