Ray L. Smith

Ray L. Smith, age 65 of New Carlisle, passed away April 10, 2023. He was born May 8, 1957 in Dayton to the late Robert and Audrey (Barney) Smith, Sr. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Dean Smith and his sister, Mary Broadstock.

He is survived by his wife, Jodee Smith; children, Todd (Peggy) Smith, Melissa (Matt) Shaw, Christopher Smith, Kaycee Runyan, Codee Arthur and Madison Bayerlein; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; brother, Robert (Betty) Smith, Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Ray worked and retired after 42 years of service from J&B Transmission on Valley Street in Riverside, OH. In his younger days, Ray enjoyed attending different NASCAR races and Bengal's games. He spent his retirement at Grand Lake St. Mary's, where you would find him boating, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Ray was a member of AmVets Post 24 in Dayton.

Family will receive guests from 6-8 PM on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, 45439) where a funeral service will begin at 9:30 AM on Saturday, April 15th. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.
