Ray B. Powers, age 75 of Xenia, OH passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Elmcroft of Fairborn. He was born December 13, 1942 in Clinchco, Virginia to Clyde and Elma (Bowman) Powers. Ray married the love of his life, Lonie "Marie" Combs in August of 1976 in Dayton, OH, and she passed the same day as Ray at Elmcroft.
Ray retired from General Motors Harrison Radiator Plant as a Tool and Die Maker after many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, was an avid outdoorsman and loved all his animals. Ray was known as a jokester and will be remembered for his "corny" jokes. He was a member of ODGA and the Ohio Farm Bureau. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all.
Ray is survived by his children, Gail (David) Hatfield and Robbie (Rhonda) Powers; Marie's children, Patricia (Dallas) Brock, Ronald (Keiko) Combs, Thomas (Kenda Davis) Combs and Paul (Nancy) Combs; 16 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; a sister, Fern Miller; and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; Marie's sons, Robert and Harold Combs; and a grandson, Zak Brock.
A Funeral Service for Ray and Marie will be held on February 5, 2018 at 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Visitation for both will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Beaver Cemetery, Beavercreek, OH.
