Randall (Randy) L. LaFountain Sr., age 62 of Beavercreek, passed away Friday, November 16, 2018. He was born September 2, 1956 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Lambert and Edna LaFountain (Perzynski). He married Cindy LaFountain (Smith) on October 2, 1975.
Randy joined the United States Air Force in March of 1977 and retired after 20 years of service to his country. Following retirement from the Air Force Randy was employed by Northrop Grumman where he worked as a configuration manager until retirement. Randy loved golfing, softball, volleyball, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. He was a diehard Detroit Red Wings fan and watched them play every chance he could. Randy was known by his friends and family as a quiet and gentle soul who never had a bad thing to say about anyone. His dry sense of humor could always lighten the mood and light up all the faces in a room. He was also known as "Mr. Fix-it" by his close friends and family because he could fix anything. Randy never said no to anyone who needed help and often used his free time to help others in need. He said he had four loves in his life: God, his wife of 43 years, his family, and his country and he lived every day to the fullest. Randy will be greatly missed by everyone he touched during his life.
Randy is survived by his loving wife Cindy, his sister Cherie (Jerry) Goodfriend, and his brother Kenneth (Barb) LaFountain. He is also survived by his children Randy L. (Rachel) LaFountain Jr., Daryl W. (Kimberly) LaFountain, Gwyn J. (Dan) LaFountain, Chris M. (Bethany) LaFountain, 15 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
