RaMon Ray Jones, affectionately known by many as Peedy, PD, and Pete, was a dedicated barber whose artistry spanned over 20 years. Born on December 4, 1978, in Dayton, Ohio, RaMon's journey came to a close on December 22, 2024, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Throughout his life, RaMon was not only known for his exceptional skills with scissors and clippers but also for his vibrant personality. Described as honest and outspoken, he made a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of knowing him. His talent extended beyond the barbershop; he was an athlete at heart. At the tender age of five, he captured the attention of his community by winning a break dancing competition, a feat that was celebrated in a local newspaper. Additionally, RaMon’s competitive spirit shone brightly when he and his brother triumphed in a national basketball tournament. His love for sports was further evident in his pursuits as a swimmer and diver, showcasing his athleticism and zest for life.
RaMon cherished the moments spent with his family. He took immense pride in being a father to his three beautiful daughters: Reiona, R'Shawna, and R'Naja. His commitment to fatherhood was one of his proudest accomplishments, alongside obtaining his barber's license and maintaining friendships that dated back to his childhood.
With interests that included playing and watching basketball and football, RaMon found joy in both competition and camaraderie. Music also held a special place in his heart, often serving as a backdrop to the memories he created with loved ones.
RaMon is survived by his mother, Geraldine Burell; father, Michael A. Jones; daughters, Reiona, R'Shawna, and R'Naja Jones; brother, LaMon L. Jones; half-brother, Anthony Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other friends and family.
His legacy will be celebrated with visitation and funeral services on December 30, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, Ohio. The visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 AM.
RaMon Ray Jones led a life filled with remarkable moments, athletic triumphs, and deep familial love. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, as they hold dear the laughter and love he freely shared.
