Ralph "Smitty" Smith

Smith, Ralph "Smitty", age 77, of Kettering, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2011. Ralph retired from General Motors with over 43 years of service. He was a United States Army Veteran proudly serving in the Korean War and was a F. & A.M. Kettering Lodge.

Ralph is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Nadine (Paul) Baker; step son: Danny Wayne Barlowe; grandchildren: Jason R. Buckley, Amanda R. Carr; great grandchildren: Jordan R. & Jaelyn R. Carr; the love of his life: Regina R. Smith; siblings: Jimmy Dale (Kathy) Smith, Sharon Hall, Arlene Strong, Connie Flone, Betty Blanton, Keith (Bonnie) Smith; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ormund & Faye (Perkins) Smith; sister: Carol Perkins; brother: Wendell "Gabby" Smith and nephew: Gary Blanton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December 19, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd. Interment will follow the service at David's Cemetery in Kettering. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 P.M. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Ralph.
