Ralph Seitz, Jr.

Ralph L. Seitz, Jr., age 72 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on January 7, 2011. He was born July 19, 1938 in Dayton. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years, a service that he and his family were very proud of. During his first year in the Air Force, Ralph was stationed in Tokyo, Japan, where he met the love of his life, Yoshiko. Ralph and Yoshiko shared the next 50 years together in marriage and raised three sons: Ralph, III, Steven and Craig Seitz.

Ralph is survived by his devoted wife, Yoshiko; his sons and their wives, Shan, Danelle and Sarah; sister, Patty Winchester; grandchildren: Heather Miller, Matthew Seitz, Joshua Seitz, Caitlin Seitz, Hanna Seitz, Benjamin Seitz, Trent Seitz, Christian Seitz, Kaylee Seitz, Samuel Seitz and Liam Seitz; great grandchildren: Gabriel, Xavier, Athan and Royal. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph and Aline Seitz; and sister, Donna Thiesen.

Ralph enjoyed exploring all the "Hole in the Wall" restaurants in Huber Heights, often taking his family along to enjoy the cuisine. He enjoyed taking his grandkids to the American Legion in Vandalia, which also was dubbed "The Quiet Place". He enjoyed having his coffee every morning at the Frisch's on Old Troy Pike in Huber Heights, where he greatly enjoyed the company of the ladies who laughed at his jokes. Ralph taught his three sons the importance of personal values, the virtue of hard work, and the value of perseverance, which continues to be a family legacy taught to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ralph will be greatly missed, but always remembered by his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, January 14, 2011, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, 6:00 – 7:00 pm. Ralph's family would like to thank the staff at Miami Valley Hospital and the ER staff at Grandview Hospital, especially nurse, Dixie, who was a true credit to her profession.
