GORBY, Ralph G., age 80, of Dayton, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006. He was born November 12, 1925 in Athens, OH, the son of Lodes M. and Mabel (Stotts) Gorby. Ralph was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII on the destroyer U.S.S. FARENHOLT, DD491. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wilma (Baker); two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Allen Winchester, Diane and Michael Rowland; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Margaret Gorby; six grandchildren, Heather and Stephanie Gorby, Scott and Amanda Lee, Jacob and Evan Rowland; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Jean and Donald Warner, Patty and Wayne Thomas, Verna Leas; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Midge Gorby. He was preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Richard Gorby. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 3, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (4104 Needmore Rd.) with Pastor Michael Rowland officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to time of service. In liue of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton. Burial will be in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. He will be greatly missed.
