Rachel Lynn Stanaford
July 29, 1973 — December 9, 2015
Rachel Lynn Stanaford, age 42, born July 29, 1973, passed away on December 9, 2015 after succumbing to a recurring metastatic breast to brain cancer. This was a very aggressive form of cancer that she just couldn't overcome as she had done in the past.
She is survived by her parents Ronnie and Loleta Stanaford of Kettering, Ohio. She has two brothers, Richard and (Shanna) Stanaford and their girls, Cassandra, Brianna, Rebekah and Rachel of Kettering, Ohio and Nathan and (Tamara) Stanaford and their daughter Lena of West Carrollton.
Rachel was a respiratory therapist in the NICU at Miami Valley Hospital for 16 years. She loved her job and loved those babies even more. Rachel was a believer in Jesus Christ and praised God throughout her fight with this disease. People who knew her saw her strength and faith shine from her. She had many friends who loved her and will never forget her.
Our family would like to thank all of her friends for the love they've shown Rachel during this process. We will miss our beautiful daughter more than words can say. She always helped in any situation. She died very peacefully at home with her family around her loving her as she left us.
We would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Dayton who gave us invaluable support and help through this journey. Along with the Huber Heights Firefighters, local 2926, The Pink Ribbon Girls, the Careflight/Neoflight team, the staff in the NICU at MVH and Rachel's longtime best friend Mrs. Karen Pierce who was always there for Rachel everyday doing whatever she could to help her friend. Per Rachel's request there will be no funeral service.
A family gathering is to be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice of Dayton.Until you need them you have no idea how amazing they are.
