Quinter A. Hoover, age 92, of Dayton, passed away on May 17, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on October 4, 1923, in Brookville, Ohio to the late Calvin and Ruth (John) Hoover.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Douglas L. Hoover; and 4 siblings.
Quinter is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Dorothy; his daughter, Brenda (Ray) Hartman; daughter-in-law, Debbie Hoover; three grandchildren, Dawn Hartman, David Hartman, Theresa Hoover; and great-grandchild, Joey Hartman.
Quinter was a WWII veteran having served in the United States Army Air Corps. He was also a plumber for General Motors for 46 1/2 years and was a volunteer at Kettering Medical Center for 26 years.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 20, 2016, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Chapel, 8200 West National Road, New Carlisle, OH. Graveside service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. Linda Farley-Meyer officiating, followed by military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Dayton.
