Age 74, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009.
Pionas was born January 28, 1935 to the late Bill & Zerta (Fields) Collier, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Stephen (Steve) Collier; his step-father, Gordon Fields; and by two brothers & two sisters.
Pionas is survived by his wife of the past 55 years, Margaret (Freeman) Collier; one daughter, Carol (John) Fritz; one son, Pionas Jr (Angela) Collier; eleven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Danetta Collier; two brothers, Roy (Bernice) & Harold (Joyce) Collier; two sisters, Martha Smith & Carol (David) Proffit; and by his extended family and many good friends.
Pionas retired from General Motors in 1996 with 43 years of service.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday (10/14), at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at the funeral home with Rev. Willie Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
