Pierce Reed, Jr.

Dr. Pierce REED, Jr., age 79, of dayton, went home to be with Jesus Christ his Lord on March 18, 2005. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Navy, a former Dayton Police officer, and former Pastor of Open Bible Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Theda Jewell Reed; one son, Steven L. Reed; both parents and one brother, Clerman. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Randy Collins of New Carlisle, OH; three sons, Daniel Reed of Oklahoma, Jeff Reed of Marion, OH, and Craig Reed of Dayton; one brother, Grant; three sisters, Ethel, Violet, and Betty; grandchildren, Todd, Heather, Matthew, Jennifer, and Leslie; 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 24, 2005 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Living World Church (926 E. National Rd., Vandalia, OH) where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Pat Murray officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetry.
