Phyllis M. Whitenack of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home on December 31, 2021. She was born on May 6th of 1948, in Dayton, Ohio. Phyllis was the daughter of the late Hollis and Margaret James.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Edward M. Whitenack and sister Patricia Gabbard and her husband Charles Gabbard.
Those who have stayed to cherish her memory are family: nephew Charles Gabbard, his wife Rosalind and children Rachael and Colton.
Step-granddaughter Jennifer Whitenack and great grandchildren Colton and Emilia.
Phyllis was blessed with a neighborhood of angels who kept watch over her, especially her friends Kevin and Beth Smith and sons Holden and Benton.
Phyllis retired from AT&T and joined her husband Ed to enjoy the golden years. Before Ed's passing, they loved concerts, car shows and choosing new places to experience. She was a 50's and 60's girl at heart. Phyllis volunteered at the Senior Center of Huber Heights and spent many days welcoming people with a warm smile. She loved stitchery, coloring, scrapbooking, reading, and collecting Donna Sharp purses. Phyllis enjoyed lunches out and long phone calls with her best friends Debbie, Carol, Susan, and Casey.
She spent her life with a love of traveling and each place she went, she brought home something to remember it by, especially if it was a glass seal, her favorite animal. Phyllis was a caring person and much like her mother, Margaret she made a lot of positive changes in people's lives.
