Phyllis Howard-Spang, age 71, of Riverside, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.
Phyllis was born in Hazard, KY on September 5, 1950 to the late Henry Clemons & Lola (Gayhart) Griffith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Calvin Howard; daughter, Tammi (Howard) Evans; brothers, Bennie Ray Clemons and Billy Keith Griffith; and step-father, Bill Griffith.
Phyllis is survived by her loving husband, Jim Spang; daughters, Terri (Howard) Stanley, Vicki Howard & Steve, Tina Howard and her favorite-Michelle "Shelly" (Howard) Meade & Jason; son-in-law, Mike Evans; step-children, Jacque Spang, Jeff Spang & Cheryl and Jon Spang; grandchildren, Kim, Amanda, Billy (Malissa), Clint (Morgan), Cody, Caitlin, Hannah, Tyler (Haley), Kelsea, Huston, Ray and Aubrey; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Connie (Clemons) Hollingsworth & Kenny; aunt, Elvira Combs; best friends, Judy and Mary Lou; numerous, cousins, nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws and many friends.
Phyllis was a store manager with Stop & Go/Sunoco for 20 + years. She never met a stranger and loved spending time with her family. Phyllis loved all sports, and had a special place in her heart for the Kentucky Wildcats, OSU Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals and the Reds.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 5-7 pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH 45424. The service will follow at 7pm.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 11am-1pm at Magoffin County Funeral Home, 900 Parkway Drive, Salyersville, KY 41465. The service will follow at 1pm.
Phyllis will be laid to rest at the Howard Family Cemetery in Salyersville, KY.
