Phyllis A. (Lewis) Mergler, age 89 of Dayton, Ohio died Wednesday evening, May 7, 2014. She was born in Greenville, Ohio on August 10, 1924. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela, her parents, Kathryn & John W. Lewis, brother, John W. Lewis, Jr, sister, Dorothy Kunkle and husband of 50 years, Monroe Mergler, Jr. She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Kathy & Jim Henry of Tipp City, Jackie Mergler of Dayton, Kim & Bob Conway of Huber Heights, son & daughter-in-law, Joel & Kathleen Mergler of Delaware, Ohio, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, brother Harley Lewis, and sister-in-law, Eleanora Lewis. During WWII she worked at W.P.A.F.B. and is a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from Noon - 1:00 PM Monday, May 12, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton where Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 PM Monday with Pastor Randy Clark Officiating. Burial at Greenville Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton and Fairview United Methodist Church.
