Phyllis A. Pyles

Pyles, Phyllis Ann, age 78, of West Alexandria, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 24, 2008. She was born May 25, 1929 in Dayton, OH, the daughter of Soloman & Freda (Rotered) Oakley. She retired from Duriron Company and was a member of the American Legion Post 762. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence D. Pyles; 3 sisters. Survivors include her children, Darrell (Judy) Gorman of Riverside, OH and David (Sharon) Gorman of New Lebanon, OH; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and her brothers, Wilbur & Elmore Oakley. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH, with Pastor Mark Kirchhofer officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12 PM until the time of services.
