Phyllis A. Chasteen

Phyllis A. Chasteen (Barr), age 81, of the Dayton area, passed away on October 23, 2012. She was born in Middletown, OH to the late Roy and Lena Barr. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by, her husband, Roy Chasteen, her sister, Jenny Fisher; brother, Richard Barr; and nephew, David Fisher.

Phyllis is survived by her two children, Howard Chasteen (Joyce) and Charlotte Shumway (Ronald); step children, Sherry Marshall (Donald) and Jawn Chasteen (Rita); grandchildren, Aubrey Norstrom (Jeremy), Renee Osborn (Jon), Charles Shumway (Jessie May) and Jessica Glancy (Kevin); sister, Betty Vagedes (Bob); brothers, Roy Barr, Bob Barr, Clarence Barr and Jack Barr (Nellie); seven great grandchildren; and in laws, Charlotte Chasteen, Carol Bender, Jerry and Sarahan Chasteen and Les and Vera Chasteen.

Phyllis' greatest love was for her children and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 27, 2012 at 2 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, where the family will receive friends for an hour prior to service from 1-2 pm.
