Phillip Charles "Butch" McLain, age 70 of Dayton, OH passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Kindred Hospital. He was born January 3, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio to Darrell and Norma (Kunz) McLain. Butch married Wendy Mosta on June 11, 1980 in Dayton, OH.
Butch was an avid Bengals, Reds, Dayton Dragons and Ohio State fan. He loved playing darts, bowling and an enjoyed an ice cold Strohs. Butch loved cheering on his grandkids at their sporting events. He was a quiet, easy going, kind hearted man and provided many memories that family and friends will treasure forever. Phil created a lasting legacy and will be forever missed and forever in our hearts.
Phil is survived by his wife of 40 years, Wendy; two daughters, Sara E. (Brack) Russell and Amanda M. (Gary Eck) McLain; seven grandchildren, Chloe, Dana, Layla, Liam, Kyra, Julius and Jeremiah; a brother, William "Bill" (Mary) McLain; a sister, Teresa McLain; and numerous other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 pm on January 27, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, 1313 W. Dorothy Lane, Kettering, OH 45409.
