Phillip J. Porter
PORTER, Phillip J. "Phil" age 75 of Kettering, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 20, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his son David A. Porter, parents David C. and Marcella Porter, mother-in-law Mary Miers and brother-in-law Wallace Gentry. He is survived by Priscilla, his loving wife of 47 years, his daughters Sandi Jo and husband Tony Zuffa, Suzi and husband Greg Kelson; grandchildren Amber, Megan and Jonathan Porter, Luke and River Zuffa, Angel, Phillip Gabriel, Micah, Gideon, Roman, and Ocean Kelson; sister Roseann Gentry; brother Earl and wife Judy Porter; sister-in-law Barbara and husband Warren Baker; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Phil was a Principal and associate Pastor at Temple Christian School (Dayton Baptist Temple). He spent most of his adult life pastoring God's sheep in Martinsville, IN, two pastorates in KY, Campbellsville and Calvert City, and in the Dayton area.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel 3380 Dayton Xenia Road. Family will receive friends from 5 - 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment at Byron Cemetery.
