MARSHALL, Philip R., age 79, of Beavercreek, died Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Soin Medical Center. He was born March 7, 1934 in Walton, Indiana, son of the late Ray and Maxine Marshall.
Phil graduated from Walton High School where he participated in basketball and baseball. Phil earned a B.S. degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue University, and later he was awarded an M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Dayton. Phil spent 35 years of his career as a civil servant with the Department of Defense, primarily at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. After retirement, he increased his golf activity and kept up with his grandkids; affectionately known by them as "Grumpy Grampy".
He is survived by his wife of nearly sixty years, Phyllis; brother, Hal, his wife, Cheryl, niece and nephew Ashley and Alex of Ladoga, Indiana; son Randall Marshall and his wife Anne of Olympia, Washington; son Steven Marshall, his wife Marcia, and grandchildren Danielle and Weston of Columbia, Maryland; daughter Teresa Cloud, her husband Mike and granddaughters Christina, Stephanie, and Natalee of Centerville, Ohio.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm followed by a Memorial Service at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio with Pastor Ken Kirk officiating.
