Philip Barton Herron, 73, died on October 21, 2013 after a brief illness. He was born November 25, 1939, in Athens, Ohio. He was predeceased in death by his wife Ann (Patton) in 1994. He is survived by three children: Mark P. Herron, Mayfield Heights, Ohio, Steven M. Herron (Jill), Vermilion, Ohio and Rev. Katharine A. Herron-Piazza (Mario), Weston, Connecticut.
He had five grandsons: Andrew, Samuel, Luke, Jonathan and Christopher. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Harris (David), Louisville, Kentucky and brother, Timothy Williams (Becky), Fern Park, Florida.
He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1962 and The Ohio State School of Law in 1965. He received diplomas from the Squadron Officers School, Air Command and Staff College, and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
He practiced law in Dayton for thirty-four years. He served as Law Director for the cities of Moraine, Riverside and Trotwood. Phil was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for seventeen years. He will be missed by his family and friends.

A Memorial Visitation will be held 4-8:00 PM, Friday, October 25, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432.
A Graveside service will be held 10 AM, Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Woodland Cemetery, 118 Woodland Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45409. Rev. Katharine A. Herron-Piazza officiating.
