Penny Peoples Landis, born in Dayton Ohio on October 19, 1941, passed away from Leukemia peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, July 28, 2017. After graduating from Fairmont High School in 1959 she married her High School sweetheart, Glen Landis, in January of 1960. They resided in the Dayton area until 1969 when they moved to Michigan for 10 years, to the Annapolis, Maryland area for 20 years, and returned to Dayton in 1997. Penny began attending Southbrook Christian Church in Miamisburg in 1999 and was an active volunteer in several ministries during her years with the church.
Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Harry People and Norma Altenburg Peoples, Sister Jackie Pratt, infant Grandson Justin Landis and Daughter Angela King.
Penny is survived by her Husband Glen Landis, Son Jeff Landis (wife Lori), Daughter Julie Landis (Fiancée John Seaton), 5 Grandchildren, Meghan Frick and Ryan Frick (Julie), Jennifer King, Jaimee King and Joe King (Angela), 3 Great Grandchildren, Lillian Daniels (Meghan), Natalee McKenzie (Jaimee) and Ryder Ackler (Jennifer). She is also survived by Sister Pam Stout (Husband Ken), Nieces, Nephews and many Friends, including the friends she has made from Southbrook Christian Church.
A memorial service will be held for the family and friends on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 10:30 am at Southbrook Christian Church, 9095 Washington Church Road, Miamisburg, Ohio. Donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS.ORG) in lieu of flowers.
