Peggy Jo Simmons

Peggy Jo Simmons, age 75 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born March 23, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of Minniss Jack and Nora June Honeycutt.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Glenndola Anderson.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Vernon Simmons; daughter, Stephanie (Darryl) Koerper; son, Derick (Paula) Simmons; grandsons, Jakob Simmons, Zackery Fugate & Cole Fugate; brother and sister, Jack (Nancy) Honeycutt & Barbara (David) Spurling; numerous nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Peggy was a very loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She enjoyed babysitting the grandchildren and loved playing board games with them. She was an avid animal lover. She also enjoyed get-togethers with family and friends.
Peggy was baptized on May 12, 1973 and remained a loyal servant of Jehovah until her passing. She will be remembered for working on the Kingdom Hall Build and working with friends in the field service ministry. She enjoyed associating with fellow spiritual brothers and sisters and often listened in on the meetings from home during her illness.
A Gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432).
