Pearl Cleghorn was born in Wise County, Virginia on October 14, 1925 and passed January 17, 2019 in Lubbock, Texas. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Reverend Johnnie Cleghorn; her mother and father, Clint and Callie Watson; brothers, Frank and Harold Watson; and sisters, Gladys Davis, Lucy Dulaney, and Minnie Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Jessica Cleghorn.
Pearl is survived by sons, Michael (Pamela) Cleghorn and Mark (Nancy) Cleghorn; grandchildren, Mark (Kamila) Cleghorn, Joel (Christina) Cleghorn, Candace (Russell) Carter and Jamie (Sean) Baker; great-grandchildren, Emylee and Josiah Cleghorn (their mother, Brenda Bonadies), and Zofia Cleghorn, Devyn and Hannah Cleghorn, Riley Carter, and Brittany and Tyler Baker. She is also survived by numerous family members and friends.
Pearl lived most of her life in Dayton, Ohio and was a member of New Beginnings Church of God. She was a strong and vibrant woman who loved her lord, her family, and her church.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday at New Beginnings Church of God, 6649 Chambersburg Road, Huber Heights. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.
