Pearl Ball, Jr., age 93, of Miamisburg, OH, passed away on March 5, 2023. Pearl was born in Ages Brookside, KY on September 9,1929, the son of the late Pearl and Rosa (Whitehead) Ball, Sr. On November28, 1952, in Pleasant View, KY, Pearl married the love of his life, Betty Leach and together they enjoyed 70 wonderful and loving years together.
After their marriage, Pearl and Betty moved to Miamisburg, OH in an effort for Pearl to find work. Pearl's search did not take long as he eventually began his working career at NCR where he became a talented self-taught tool maker. Pearl retired from NCR in1974 after 21 years of service. However, because of his strong work ethic and having the talent to work with his hands, Pearl would not remain idle for long. He then went on to work for General Motors Delco Products Division until 1989.
In his spare time, Pearl discovered he had a passion for building and repairing bicycles and bringing the damaged and worn bikes back to their original "new" condition. He had a basement full of bicycles and hundreds of spare parts. Pearl also enjoyed being outdoors and working in his yard. He was a perfectionist and there would not be a blade of grass out of place or untrimmed.
Pearl and Betty loved to travel to their favorite campground, Crosses Campground in Camden, OH and in the winter months, they would camp with close friends in Florida and Tennessee. On the weekends, Pearl and Betty would spend time with their friends playing cards well into the evening. When not hard at work or camping, the greatest joy in Pearl's life was being with his family. In his later years, Pearl especially loved being with his great-granddaughter Mckayla, she would make his eyes light-up when she came to visit Pearl and Betty in their home. Pearl is going to be greatly missed and continue to live in the hearts of all who knew him.
Pearl leaves behind a loving family legacy with his wife, Betty; sons, Mark (Nanci) Ball and Tom Ball both of Miamisburg; brother, Reggie Barb) Ball; sister, Jean Croushorn; grandsons, Alex, Matt and Michael; granddaughters, Amanda, Megan; great-granddaughters, Makayla, Lola and Lucia; great-grandsons, Lucas and Ryder; and many extended family and close friends
