Pauline Sullivan Evans

Evans, Pauline Sullivan, age 85, passed away November 18, 2011. A resident of Centerville, Ohio for 48 years. She received her B.S. and M.A. degrees from the University of Alabama. She had deep roots, maternal and fraternal, in American and traditional Southern Baptist history, entering land in the Mississippi territory nine generations ago. She was also a member of the DAR. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years: Clarence Joseph Evans, Sr.; and four brothers: James Jackson Sullivan, Soloman Andrew Sullivan, Horace Daniel Sullivan & Paul Revere Sullivan. She is survived by her son: Clarence Joseph Evans Jr. (Amy); daughters: Paula Frances Bohman, Claire Evans Schmithorst (Ken), Juliette Evans Proctor; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and adored older sister: Ruth Sullivan West. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until time of service. Entombment will be held in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, in memory of Pauline.
