Pauline Adkins

Pauline (Raines) Adkins, age 80 of West Carrollton, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the Hospice of Dayton. She was born August 1, 1939 in Bainbridge, Ohio.

Pauline was a graduate of Kettering Fairmont High School. She worked for Standard Register for over 40 years. Pauline loved spending time with her grandchildren in Miamisburg and in Utah. She enjoyed cooking meals and especially loved the holiday seasons where family would gather together. She was an avid shopper who would spend every Black Friday with her daughter, Tammy and sister, Dee where they would stay out all night long shopping. She enjoyed family vacations throughout her life and her family will hold all those precious memories together. Pauline devoted her life in serving The Lord in many capacities, including Sunday School Teacher and Secretary, Deacon's wife, Fellowship Committee, Vacation Bible School, church nursery and loved singing in the church choir.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Thomas; granddaughter, Alyssa Adkins; grandson, Jeremy Stapleton; parents who raised her, Loris and Stella Hardman; her mother, Marie Benson; brother, Charles Raines and sister, Joann Allred.

Pauline is survived by her children, Greg (Pam) Adkins and Tammy Stapleton; grandchildren, Alannah Adkins, Destiny Stapleton, Hannah Grace Adkins and Sam Stapleton; sisters, Dee (James) Adkins and Betty (Jack) Brewer; brothers, Junior (Cleota) Raines and Buck Raines; In-laws, Annie (Kenny) Hill, Nellie (Rich) Sullivan, Dora Abrams, Violet Flynn, Terry (Jim) Razauskas and Sandy (Larry) Sizemore; along with numerous extended family and friends.


Family will receive friends Tuesday, July 21, 2020 from 10:00-12:00 PM at Moraine Heights Baptist Church (5661 Munger Road, Dayton, Ohio 45459), where her funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM. Burial will take place after the service at Highland Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Thomas R. Adkins.
