Pauline A. Winfield
Age 95, of Dayton, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012.
Pauline was born November 21, 1916 in Dayton to Edgar & Ethel (Ludy) Shank. In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Howard E. Winfield; one daughter, Jeanne Kay Gantt; one daughter-in-law, Kay "Kitty" Winfield; and by one sister, Mildred Shinham.
She is survived by three children, Howard (Judith) Winfield, Joanne (William) Brelsford and Richard Winfield; one son-in-law, Michael Gantt; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and by her extended family & many good friends.
Pauline was a life-time member of the New Lebanon Brethren Church where she served many roles, including choir director, Sunday school teacher, Women's Missionary Society (WMS) member and as a Deaconess. She also served as president of the National WMS of the Brethren Church. She was a member of the Dayton Choirmasters Club.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the New Lebanon Church of the Brethren, 32 S. Church Street, New Lebanon, Ohio 45345. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery in West Alexandria.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Pauline to The New Lebanon Brethren Church or donor's favorite charity.
