Paul Wesley Stackhouse

September 13, 1939 — December 18, 2021

Paul Wesley Stackhouse of Beavercreek, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 82 years of age. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Doris Marie Stackhouse; son Paul W. Stackhouse, Jr. (Joyce) of Yorktown, Virginia; daughter Julie L. Moore of Gas City, Indiana; daughter Penney L. Miller (David) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; and his brother Thomas E. Stackhouse of Deptford, New Jersey. Preceding him in death were his sister Mary O. Rogers and his parents, Theodore K. and Caroline M. Stackhouse.

Paul was born in Riverside, New Jersey and grew up in Moorestown, New Jersey, where he graduated from Moorestown High School. He earned his degree in pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. Thereafter, he became a pharmacist at Burlington County Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly, NJ, which became West Jersey Hospital. While raising their children, Paul and Doris lived in Moorestown, and eventually, he became the Director of the Hospital Pharmacy and Vice-President of Materials Management in the West Jersey Hospital system in Voorhees, NJ, which today is Virtua. Later, they moved to Gallipolis, Ohio, where he worked as the Director of Pharmacy at Holzer Medical Center for eighteen years.

After retiring from his distinguished career, Paul and Doris moved to the Xenia/Beavercreek area, where they became members of the Dayton Avenue Baptist Church, and for a short time, Paul worked part-time as a substitute pharmacist at area pharmacies. He likewise continued his community involvement, which he'd begun in the 1960s. An American Patriot, Paul worked tirelessly to secure the right to life for unborn children with a local Right to Life organization as well as fight for fiscal accountability and local governance through the Greene County Tea Party. In short, he was committed to ensuring that people could have the freedom to make choices for their own lives and pursue their own faith.

Paul was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. He likewise loved painting with oils, drawing house plans for new homes, and designing new pharmacies; miniature golfing with his grandchildren; listening to Gospel and classical music and singing in the church choir; researching historical topics that interested him; and in the past, setting up his train set every Christmas. In short, he had a scientist's mind combined with an artist's soul. His main goal in life was loving God, family, and country.

Because of the ongoing pandemic, only a private visitation and funeral will be held for family at Newcomer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dayton Avenue Baptist Church in Xenia, Ohio at https://daytonave.org/giving/ and Answers in Genesis at .
