Paul E. Trittschuh

Trittschuh, Paul Edward, age 75, died peacefully in the arms of his wife at The Hospice of Dayton on November 17, 2017 @ 7:30 a.m. from brain cancer; specifically Glioblastoma Multiforme. Paul was born in a farm house at 11787 Streib Rd., North of Versailles, Ohio on May 18, 1942 to Willie E. and Leah G. (Hittle) Trittschuh. Paul was a 1960 graduate of Ansonia High School and a graduate of Columbus Business University. He was employed by Dayton Power & Light Company in Dayton, Ohio as an accountant. Paul loved his work for DP&L and liked to joke that he was not going to retire until they "hauled him out on a gurney with a sheet over his head." However, he did retire on 12-31-13 after 52 years and two weeks of service of which he was very proud, certain that he had set some kind of record.

He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved brother Carl Trittschuh, sisters: Delores, Patricia, and most special sister Helen Kay Dancer. He is survived by his much beloved wife, Marie, his son John (Sun) Trittschuh, his daughter Molly (Dan) Kenney, stepdaughter, Catherine (Matt) Justice, Stepson, Ronald (Donette) Pickering and his adored grandchildren Haley Kay and Ella Sun Trittschuh, Kyle (Sarah) Kosicki, Kristoph (Emilee) Kosicki, Bailey Justice, Olivia and Marina Weldon and his Great Granddaughters Kylie Kosicki and Sophia Philabaum, Ellie Joy Kosicki and Isabella Philabaum, Blair Justice and Cypress Kosicki, and Great Grandsons, Grayson and Jayce Kosicki. He is also survived by his brother, Lester (Sharon) Trittschuh of West Milton, his sisters, Treva Heft of Troy, OH, Carolyn (David) Engle of Piqua, OH., Ruby Peeples of Piqua, OH and Peggy (Tom) Hill of Versailles, best friends Larry Peters (Cheryl) and Jack Smith (Trish) plus many other well loved friends and relatives.

Paul derived a great deal of gratification and satisfaction from working with wood, building and remodeling things. He enjoyed working on cars and other mechanical things and for many years he helped family and friends by repairing their cars and buying the needed parts as his favorite hangouts were the auto parts and hardware stores. He loved to solve problems and make things work better by challenging himself to design or invent someway of improving on the original. Paul had a tremendous amount of common sense was the type of person that people respected and wanted to be around. He appreciated his family and showed that appreciation through his love and generosity. He and Marie were long time fans of UD Flyer's Women's Basketball. He was deeply honored and moved by the jersey the team signed for him and was looking forward to another great season. He loved to voice his opinion on politics, religion and the benefits of "cloth over leather" and relished a good argument about any of those subjects.

He really enjoyed life and his greatest pleasure came from spending time close to his wife, Marie while traveling the world normally hand in hand. They especially loved Hawaii and visited there often, but enjoyed their time together even if it was a trip to the grocery store or a walk around the neighborhood. As long as they were together, they were happy. He joyfully sent a number of his family and friends to Hawaii so they could experience the beauty there. In the summer of 2017 (before the illness hit full force) he took along with Marie, their 3 Granddaughters, Haley, Ella and Kylie on a 2 week vacation to 3 of Hawaii's most beautiful Islands!

Paul's belief and acceptance of religion was that "god" was the universal spirit and power of love and forgiveness, no matter what religious group you were aligned with. He saw that those differences often lead to hatred and war (which he abhorred). He had no personal desire or belief in the possibility of living a "kazillion" years into eternity after death. He does not want you to mourn that he is truly and forever dead, but wishes for all to enjoy, celebrate and honor his life and all living thing, no matter the species. Those of us left behind will greatly miss Paul and will treasure and honor his memory for the remainder of our lives.

Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Newcomer North Chapel, 41041 Needmore Rd. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21 at the funeral home with Pastor Barbara Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery.
