Paul Byron Moore Jr.

December 24, 1936 — April 7, 2023

Paul Byron Moore Jr., 86 passed away peacefully on April 7, 2023. Loving husband of Sandra Moore for 29 years, adored father of Paul Moore and Michael (Floor) Moore, beloved grandfather of Hugo Moore and Vala Moore and cherished brother of Gretchen (Skip) Backus and Cindy Davis.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents Paul Sr. and Wilmina Moore and brother in law John Davis.

Paul was born on December 24th, 1936 in Youngstown, OH, the eldest son of Paul B. Moore and Wilmina Moore. He graduates from Boardman High School in 1955 and went on to attend Ohio Wesleyan University where he joined the ROTC and graduated in 1959. Paul joined the US Air Force in August 1959 as a 2nd LT. and trained as a Navigator. He had a very distinguished career where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross, six Air Medals, The Meritious Service Medal, three Air Force Commendation Medals and the Legion of Merit for Silk Purse Control Group. When Paul retired in September of 1989 he was ranked as a Colonel.

After his retirement he worked for United States Air Force Museum Foundation. He also enjoyed spending time with the Porsche Club in his beloved 944. Most importantly Paul enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Paul's family will be celebrating his life in a private ceremony where he will be honored for his service to our country.

There will be a graveside ceremony at Dayton National Cemetery on Thursday, April 20th at 12:45pm.
