ISON, Paul, 94, of Dayton passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Hospice of Dayton with his family at his side. Paul was born August 9, 1925 in West Liberty, KY to the late John and Laura (Brown) Ison, also preceding him in death are his three brothers, Melvin, Jimmy and Noah.
Paul leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 43 years, Billie (Lindsay) Ison, daughter Jossette Sliwa of Bradenton, FL, 2 step-sons, Roger Castle and David Castle both of Dayton, 1 sister Maxine Staton of Shiloh, OH.
Paul was US Naval veteran serving in WW II, where he earned 5 medals including the Purple Heart which was pinned on him by President Roosevelt. He retired from General Motors in 1974 after 30 years of service. He loved to hunt, fish and be in the outdoors.
There will be a gathering of family and friends, Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at NEWCOMER CREMATIONS, FUNERALS & RECEPTIONS, Dayton North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, starting at 10:30 am, followed by a celebration of Paul's life at 12:30 pm with Paul's nephew, Pastor Roger Ison presiding.
