Paul R. Hendrix, age 88 of Miamisburg, passed away peacefully in the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ December 3, 2021. He was born on February 24, 1933 in Virgie, KY to the late Clayton and Ora (Lawson) Hendrix. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Hendrix and his sister, Dorothy "Dot" and her husband, Edgar "Bud" Conley and his sister, Faye and her husband, Richard "Dick" Gouge.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Arlene (Simpson) Hendrix; sons, Paul E. (Karen) Hendrix and Ron (Gina) Hendrix; grandchildren, Karri (Robert) Richards, Kandice (Tim) Zielstorf, Kyle (Misty) Hendrix, Sr. and Kirtis Hendrix; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, William "Bill" (Francis) Hendrix and numerous extended family and dear friends.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a volunteer firefighter with Ft. McKinley Fire Department in Ohio. He umpired little league baseball for a few years. He was a Ft. McKinley Scout Master for Troop 109. Paul's main passion was at Fairhaven Church as one of the key volunteers in the kitchen for 17 years. His love and joy were displayed at each festival or event and he was affectionally known as "Chuck Wagon Paul." Paul's main hobby was genealogy as he researched and compiled for many many years the family trees for his family and wife's family.
Family will receive guests from 4-6 PM on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, 45459) where a funeral service with military honors will begin at 6 PM with Pastor Jim Futrell officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 12 noon on Friday, December 10 for a 1 PM graveside service at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle.
