Paul Alan Dvorsky, LTC (Ret), age 70, passed away peacefully at home in Madison, AL, surrounded by his loving family on December 24, 2020. After growing up in the greater Pittsburgh, PA, area, he graduated from the University of Dayton (Class of 1972) where he met his future bride Paula. Following college, he proudly served his country for over 22 years as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army and received the U.S. Armed Forces Legion of Merit award. Paul continued his work and relationship with the military, providing professional services for the government in the Huntsville, AL, area. In his retirement, he was a dedicated volunteer and officer for the St. Vincent de Paul Society conference at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and then played an instrumental role in the foundation of Most Merciful Jesus Catholic Church in Madison, AL. Paul took every opportunity to complete a home project, and to help his children and extended family. He loved nothing more than watching his grandchildren's activities, traveling the world, and cheering on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. In addition, he was a proud member of the service organization Vets with Vettes Corvette Club.
Paul is survived by his wife, Paula (Fenelon), three children, Alison (Andres Sulleiro) Dvorsky, Michelle (Nezar Abraham) Dvorsky and Matthew (Shannon) Dvorsky, and five adoring grandchildren; sisters Linda (Craig) Brooks, Alexis (Tom) Madden, Barbara (John) Mantini, and Cheryl Achatz, brother Richard (Trese) Dvorsky, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aloysius and Mary Dvorsky. A private funeral service will be held prior to his burial in Dayton, OH. A public celebration of life will be held at a later date.
