Paul D. Davidson of Huber Heights, Ohio, passed away on October 6, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton at the age of 60. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on February 6, 1964 to Farmer and Betty Davidson.
Paul met the love of his life, Teresa in 1980 at a teen church service on Wednesday night. They were friends for many years and after some of life's experiences, they re-united and decided to start their lives together. They were married on October 19, 1991 at Philadelphia Drive Church of God in Dayton, Ohio. He was a loving and faithful husband and they were blessed with 33 beautiful years together.
Paul is survived by his wife, Teresa Davidson; his daughter, Patricia Padgett (Dave); his grandchildren, Brooke, Wyatt and David; his brother, Richard Davidson; and his sisters, Geraldine Jones and Mary Bowles and their families; his sisters-in-law, Subrena Schaefer, Jeannie Wright and Kathy Maddex (Brad); his brother-in-law, Chuck Wright; his Godson, John Schaefer and his nephew, Robbie Edwards.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Farmer Davidson; his mother, Betty Davidson; his sister, Ellie Mae Lockard; his father-in-law, Charles Wright; his mother-in-law, Lois Wright; his brother-in-law, Tom Schaefer; and his chocolate lab, J.J., with whom he shared a special bond.
He attended Miamisburg High School and received a Computer Science degree from Sinclair Community College. He worked for K-Mart by the Dayton Mall for years as a garden shop manager. He also worked as a store manager for Revco and CVS, then he worked for Lowe's as a plumbing department manager and was promoted to assistant store manager. He worked for 13 years at Delphi Automotive Systems until the company was closed. His final position was with Systemax Inc., where he provided computer user tech support and sales.
Paul was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed recreational target shooting. He did not hunt, he much preferred seeing animals in their natural habitat. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, boating and fishing.
He loved Indycar, endurance-focused sports car racing, and especially everything Nascar. He enjoyed fine scale model building, collecting and even made some YouTube model building videos. He would much rather stay home, eat a good meal and watch TV shows & movies. But he would happily travel for special occasions with Teresa to make her happy. He was a "Foodie", a serious gourmet. He truly enjoyed cooking recipes, watching the Food Network and eating well.
Paul easily shared his opinion to anyone smart enough to debate with him. Many found this stressful, but should consider it a compliment if you ever found yourself debating with him on a myriad of subjects. Most importantly, Paul was a Christian, and he & Teresa prayed together every day of their 33 years together. He was often misunderstood, but was truly a man of faith and believed in and trusted in God's will. May he rest in peace.
Paul will be missed by his family and friends. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
Paul was laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery & Arboretum on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
