Sturgill, Paul Cecil, age 73, of West Carrollton, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2007. Paul was a United States Navy Veteran proudly serving during the Korean War. He retired from General Motors with over 25 years of service, was a member of American Legion Miamisburg Post #165, he was an avid bowler, and will be missed by his many friends at bingo.
Paul is survived by his wife of over 49 years: Shirley (Phillips) Strugill; daughter: Christie Berzeny of West Carrollton; brothers: Hubert W. & Junior R. Sturgill of Pierson, IN; sisters: Nellie Fryman of Indianapolis, Virginia Rogers of Indianapolis, Alice Hughes of Pierson, IN, Marie Wright of Louisa, KY; brother-in-law: Fred Phillips (Jeannie Robinette) of Kingsport, TN; dear friend: Donald Egleston of Moraine; his beloved cats: Big Bob and Scout; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: James & Belvia (Hayes) Sturgill; brothers: Wilford, Mack, Henry Sturgill; and sister: Winnie Shepherd.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, December 17, at the Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering with Reverend Doug Surber officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 P.M. until time of services. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 20 at the American Legion Cemetery in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
