Paul Cox McDaniel Age 88 of Kettering passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2009 at Unity Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was born on October 31, 1920 to Virgil and Lillian Marie McDaniel, who welcomed him home and are with him now. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he earned a purple heart. He retired from the City of Dayton. Devoted to caring for his wife of 60 years before her passing in 2004. He enjoyed spending time with his family and took great pride in his home and having an immaculate yard. Loved the Cincinnati Reds and was one of their biggest fans. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Mildred McDaniel. Brothers and sisters, Henry McDaniel, Russell McDaniel, Anna Gene McDaniel, Rose Marie Mitchell, Marybelle McDaniel, Maudie Scott, and Mary Eloise McDaniel. He is survived by his two daughters, Connie Flannigan and her husband Ronald Flannigan of Brooklyn Park, MN and Pauline Isom of Dayton; granddaughters, Teresa Abney and her husband Andrew Abney of Centerville, Melissa Posterick and her husband Rick Posterick of Brooklyn Park, MN and Jennifer Rosburg and her husband Steve Rosburg, great grandsons Brandon and Jason Paul of Centerville, Conner of Andover, MN and Kolin of Brooklyn Park, MN. Sisters and brothers Virginia Strausbaugh, Carolyn Bowling, Robert McDaniel and his wife Sue, Jack McDaniel, and Virgil McDaniel and his wife Larine. Many nieces and nephews and countless other family members and friends. May our loving father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather be at peace in the arms of the Lord and his loving wife, Mildred. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29th at the Newcomer Funeral home located at 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 30th at 10:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home with Rev. David McDaniel officiating. Burial in Woodland Cemetery immediately following the service.
