Paul E. Brierley, 54, of Beavercreek, OH passed away Monday February 27, 2012.
Paul is preceded in death by his father, John W. Brierley.
Survivors include his mother, Georgia Brierley; his wife of 33 years, Celia Brierley; son, Paul E. Brierley Jr., granddaughter, Michaela Brierley; grandson, Collin Riley Wehde; 2 sisters, Yvonne Sherman and Wanda Schmidt; brothers, John Brierley and James Brierley; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; as well as cousins and all of their families.
Paul was a wonderful husband, father, papa, coach and friend. He was the type of person who cared about others and would always take the time to help others in anyway that he could and say the words that most people could not say or want to hear. He did those things because he genuinely cared about anyone who he spoke with.
Paul dedicated his life to his country for 20 years. He traveled throughout the US at Ellsworth AFB, Scott AFB, South Bend In AFROTC unit at Notre Dame, Korea, Philippines and WPAFB. After retiring and trying to find the right employment he would love, he found DAU. Paul will be missed by his co-workers. They are like family to him. He enjoyed their friendship as much as they enjoyed his.
Paul played sports all through his entire life, in high school, in the service, with our son Paul Jr. in basketball, and soccer. Then he went on to coach at several schools; Arrowood, Warner Jr high, Stebbins High School, some select teams and the Nazarene In Xenia. He would coach kids and young adults about sports but also life, he sees every person he meets as a whole. He will be sadly missed by all of those who he coached.
Paul was dedicated to love, protect and provide for his family. We will miss him as he is with his maker . That is the only other place Paul would rather be. God intervened while he was ill and ended his pain and suffering. It is one of many comforts that we have, knowing he is with our Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Words cannot express how wonderful and great Paul Brierley was, he will be watching over us all.
Visitation is Friday March 2, 2012 from 5pm to 8pm with funeral service on Saturday March 3, 2012 at 10am at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Beavercreek Chapel), Beavercreek, OH.
